Meet Your Coach
Coach Thomas
I’m a personal trainer with decades of experience from my career in the fitness industry. Since turning 55 last year, I can convincingly say that I understand how bodies change as they age. More snapping, crackling, and popping in my joints, sore muscles taking longer to heal, and I’m quite a bit slower in the 40 yard dash. My body just can’t perform at it’s former, youthful levels. I even get hot flashes nowadays, can you believe it?! Menopausal women, I GET IT. 🥵
I refuse to give up being active, so I’ve applied my fitness knowledge toward not just keeping myself fit, but toward helping others successfully navigate the various physical challenges associated with getting older. Over the years, I’ve seen how fitness advice can easily become confusing, intimidating, or driven by trends that don’t hold up over time. I founded Silver Fit Academy to equip you with proven fitness tools and up-to-date science that keeps you on track while saving time and money.
I first fell in love with fitness as a young Navy man, when weightlifting and regular exercise helped me move better and feel better in very practical ways. Like many people, however, I was also naïve. I chased fads, tried gimmicks, and spent time and money on ideas that promised more than they delivered. Eventually, frustration pushed me toward learning how to evaluate fitness claims for myself—reading research, questioning assumptions, and separating what works from what merely sounds good. It was demanding, but now I can help others avoid the mistakes I made. Today, my approach is grounded in exercise science and shaped by experience: what people can realistically do, consistently, and safely as they age.
I focus on helping people understand why certain movements work, when they matter, and how to apply them intelligently as their bodies change with age—without overcomplicating the process. I’m mindful that as bodies change with age, it becomes harder to separate useful fitness advice from hype, exaggerated promises, and solutions that don’t hold up under scrutiny.
Silver Fit Academy provides a reliable place to think clearly, build confidence, and make informed decisions about exercise and movement—so you can stay active and capable without fear, gimmicks, or guesswork.
Through my writing and coaching, the aim is simple: help you move better, feel better, and make fitness decisions that actually serve you over the long term.
