I’m a personal trainer with decades of experience working with real bodies, including my own. Over the years, I’ve seen how easily fitness becomes confusing, intimidating, or driven by trends that don’t hold up over time. Silver Fit Academy exists to equip exercisers with proven fitness tools and up-to-date science about health and fitness to steer you away from pseudo-science and towards getting more out of your exercise regimen.

I first fell in love with fitness as a young Navy man, when weightlifting and regular exercise helped me move better and feel better in very practical ways. Like many people, I was also naïve. I chased fads, tried gimmicks, and spent time and money on ideas that promised more than they delivered. Eventually, frustration pushed me toward learning how to evaluate fitness claims for myself—reading research, questioning assumptions, and separating what works from what merely sounds good. It was demanding, but worth it. Today, my approach is grounded in exercise science and shaped by experience: what people can realistically do, consistently, and safely as they age. I focus on helping midlife adults and seniors understand why certain movements work, when they matter, and how to apply them without overcomplicating the process.

I’m especially mindful that older adults are often targeted by fitness scams, miracle products, and exaggerated promises. My goal with Silver Fit Academy is to provide a reliable place—especially for my fellow Gen Xers and older adults—to become more informed, more confident exercisers.

Through my writing and coaching, the aim is simple: help you move better, feel better, and make fitness decisions that actually serve you over the long term.
